Privacy policy for the Anshar Images app

Last updated: September 26, 2026

This page is the privacy policy of the Anshar Images app. The app publishes photos from this website to the Anshar Images account on Pinterest.

Who runs the app

Anshar Images, the owner of this website, runs the app. It runs only on the site owner's own computer.

The app works only with our own Pinterest account, ansharimages. Each time it runs, it checks that it is signed in to that account. If it is not, it changes nothing on Pinterest. We do not offer the app to anyone else.

What the app does on Pinterest

This page describes version 1 of the app.

  • It creates Pins of our own photos. It creates a Pin only after the site owner has chosen it.
  • Each Pin has a photo from this website, a title, a description, alt text, and a link to the photo's page on this website.
  • It reads the boards, sections and Pins of our account. It uses them to see which photos already have a Pin.

It does not edit, move or delete Pins. It does not read Pinterest statistics.

It does not create, rename, merge or delete a board or a section. It does not change the privacy or the description of a board. We create our boards and sections by hand, on Pinterest.

There is one exception, for tests. A test script of the app creates a small, fixed set of test boards in Pinterest's Sandbox: one public board with one section, and one secret board. It creates them only if they are not there yet. The Sandbox is Pinterest's area for testing apps. What an app creates in the Sandbox stays separate from our real Pinterest account. The script never creates or changes anything on our real account.

What data the app reads

  • Public pages and files of this website, such as the list of published photos, the photo pages, the photo images and the robots.txt file. The app reads them without signing in.
  • The username, boards, sections and Pins of our Pinterest account.
  • Our own planning files, such as the text of each Pin and the plan of our boards.

What data the app keeps, and where

  • The app's secret key and its Pinterest sign-in tokens. They stay in the Keychain, the password store of macOS, on the site owner's computer.
  • A log of what the app did on Pinterest and of the site owner's decisions, with the time of each. The log is on the site owner's computer and in our private GitHub repository.
  • Working files, such as pages that show the planned Pins. They stay on the site owner's computer.

No file that the app writes holds a Pin ID, a board ID, or text read from Pinterest. The app does not save Pinterest statistics.

Personal data

The app handles this personal data:

  • The username, boards, Pins and sign-in tokens of our own Pinterest account.
  • The initials of the person who approves our boards. They are in our own planning file.
  • The username of another Pinterest user who shares a board with our account. Pinterest lists such a board with the username of its owner. The app uses it only to leave that board alone, and it does not save it.

Visitors of this website

The app collects no data about the visitors of this website. From this website, it reads only public pages and files.

Visitors can save our photos to their own Pinterest accounts. Those Pins belong to the visitors, and the app ignores them.

This website itself, including this page, follows our main Privacy Policy. It explains what the website collects from its visitors.

How access ends

The site owner can stop the app at any time. To end its access, the site owner deletes the app's secret key and its sign-in tokens from that computer. Without them, the app cannot reach our Pinterest account.

Deleting the tokens on the computer does not cancel them at Pinterest. They stay valid at Pinterest until they expire. Pinterest's documentation explains how long they last.

If the app stops running, its access also ends when its tokens expire. To use the app again, the site owner must sign in to Pinterest again.
